Meet Rachael
OFFICE COORDINATOR
Hello and welcome. I'm Rachael and I am the office coordinator here at SerenityNP. I have worked for Carolyn Johnson since 2017. I have learned so much about functional medicine and I continue to learn something new every day. I have realized how important it is to keep searching for the root cause of our health concerns in order to heal. I love all the things SerenityNP has to offer, especially our added services like red light sauna therapy and nutritional IV therapy. I have to say that the absolute best part of my job is getting to see our clients feel better and heal while witnessing their health transformation firsthand. I look forward to meeting you.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and 2 daughters. We enjoy watching sports (both my daughters play softball and volleyball), listening to live music, & just enjoying the outdoors whenever we can. I also love to cook, bake, and attempt DIY projects.
I will be the friendly face you see when you walk through our doors and the warm voice you hear when you call. I take pride in treating all clients with courtesy, demonstrating professionalism, and dedication to my work. I look forward to serving you during your journey here at SerenityNP.
Meet Molly
REGISTERED NURSE
Hi I’m Molly Johnson. I graduated two years ago as a registered nurse from OSF St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria. I currently work in a busy Emergency Room in Rockford. I love my work as every day is always exciting and different. I love learning new things and helping others in need. I have always wanted to be a nurse because I love being a voice for the underdog. I also have a growing interest in wellness and holistic care.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, working out and listening to music. I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever named Grizzly who is my shadow. We enjoy long walks together and he is always down for any adventure. I also recently purchased my first home and I’m so excited about the new memories that will be made there!
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey to enjoying good health.

Meet Eniko
CLINICAL THERMOGRAPHER
Originally educated as a biochemical engineer in Hungary, Eniko eventually switched gears to follow her passion to focus on nutrition and natural therapy. Her interest in the lymphatic system prompted her to become a certified electrolymphatic therapist in 2007. Eniko also became a clinical thermographer in Illinois in 2011 where she serves clients providing the highest quality thermal imaging currently known.
Eniko loves to reach out to people who want to improve their overall health. She believes the highly sensitive thermal scan is crucial in prevention and early screening for breast health in women. Thermal imaging can also show precursors to heart disease, vascular obstruction, autoimmune disorders, skeletal dysfunction, and neural dysfunction in anyone. Early detection and prevention is always less complicated than treatment.
Meet Courtney
REGISTERED NURSE
Courtney Matthys, RN BSN is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a wealth of experience dating back to 2015. Her passion for healthcare was sparked by witnessing the profound impact that healthcare providers had on her aging grandparents, motivating her to pursue a career in the field.
Beginning her career in hospital settings, Courtney has since transitioned to working in surgery centers and, most recently, in a doctor's office environment. Throughout her professional journey, she has specialized primarily in gastrointestinal (GI) health, recognizing its pivotal role in long-term wellness.
In addition to her conventional medical background, Courtney has embraced a holistic approach to health, continuously expanding her knowledge of natural and functional modalities. She is particularly intrigued by innovative methods that address underlying issues and promote sustainable symptom relief, diverging from traditional quick-fix solutions. Her enthusiasm extends to the use of essential oils, which she has personally found effective in managing various health concerns, from headaches to stress.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Courtney finds joy in spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with her loved ones. As a former competitive swimmer of 14 years, her affinity for the sun and water is deeply rooted. Family holds great significance in her life, and she relishes embarking on new adventures with them, eagerly anticipating their upcoming trip to Yosemite in 2025.
Outside of work and family, Courtney shares a passion for travel with her partner, Rob, particularly to destinations like the northwoods of Wisconsin, Nashville, and tropical locales. They revel in outdoor activities such as snowmobiling and boating, as well as immersing themselves in cultural experiences like attending concerts.
In her leisure time, Courtney indulges in reading across various genres, including World War II historical fiction, fantasy, romance, and thrillers.
She is genuinely excited about the opportunity to connect with individuals and provide support on their health journeys.
Meet Helen
HEALTH COACH
Hello! I’m Helen Lessner. I’m excited to join SerenityNP’s team. I am a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach. My passion has always revolved around the healing power of nutrition.
The term nutrition encompasses many concepts, ideologies and theories that can feel overwhelming at times to say the least. I’m here to guide and walk with you on this journey that includes a very bio individualized approach to your care. My role is to bridge the gap between your health care providers in order to help support a healthy lifestyle on and off the plate.
My job is to look at food in the context of lifestyle practices to ensure you are nourishing your body well. My hope is to support you along with your health professionals to ensure the most robust and effective care and together we can celebrate your wins!
I have endured my own journey of illness in the past, a battle of 4 years with thyroid cancer. I believe along with the treatment from my practitioner, that the power of nutrition, positive mindset, visualization & stress management tools are truly what brought me from a path of illness to a path of wellness. If there is one thing looking back I wish I had, would have been a health coach to support, guide, & walk by my side on my journey. I knew then that I want to be that person for others, whether it’s illness, disease, or improving overall health & wellness through lifestyle changes for a long, fulfilled life.
I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, daughter, son, & recently adopted kitten, Milo. I enjoy spending time in the kitchen, cooking up healthy & modified versions of my favorite recipes. My favorite ways to incorporate movement into my life are strength/resistance exercises, walking, & yoga. I am a lifelong learner of all things health & wellness related, consistently reading & listening to functional medicine podcasts.
It is my mission to empower, inspire, & serve others on their journey. I cannot wait to meet you & become your partner on your path to creating the vision to your own optimal health & wellness journey.
