Meet Carolyn Johnson, NP: Your Guide to Balanced Hormones and Holistic Health

Hello there! I’m Carolyn Johnson, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to the world of hormone health and what we’re doing at Serenity NP Integrative Health.


Whether this is your first time meeting me, or we've been working together for years, I want to share a bit about my journey and how I became passionate about hormone health. I’ve been where you are—searching for answers, seeking balance, and striving for optimal health. That’s what drives me every day to help women like you find the harmony and vitality you deserve.


My Journey in Women’s Health

I began my career in healthcare after graduating from Loyola Niehoff School of Nursing in Chicago with a Master’s degree in Nursing in 2005. But my journey started much earlier. I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 1995, working in areas like Labor and Delivery, ICU, and the NICU. These experiences deepened my understanding of women’s health, and I quickly realized this was my calling.

For the past 19 years, I’ve been in private practice, focusing on women’s health and mental health. I’m board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and also certified in Functional Medicine with the American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners. These certifications allow me to blend conventional and holistic approaches, creating a truly integrative experience for my patients.


Why I Became the Hormone Health Specialist

Hormone health isn’t just a specialty for me—it’s a passion. I’ve seen how powerful balanced hormones can be in a woman’s life. Hormones are like the body’s messengers, controlling everything from mood and energy levels to metabolism and reproductive health. When they’re out of balance, you can feel it deeply. And I don’t just mean feeling a little off—I’m talking about the kind of fatigue, mood swings, and frustration that make it hard to enjoy life.

I’ve dedicated my career to helping women identify and treat the root causes of their symptoms, not just masking them. Whether it’s through Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), lifestyle changes, or a combination of both, my goal is to help you regain control and feel like yourself again.
